Daniel Barlow is an experienced nonprofit leader and healthcare policy expert who became the People’s Health & Wellness Clinic’s Executive Director in December 2021. Before joining the clinic, Dan spent 10 years as a journalist in Vermont and New Hampshire and another 10 years as the lobbyist for a socially responsible business organization.
Most recently he served as the first Executive Director of Business Leaders for Health Care Transformation, a national 501c3 organization that worked with businesses across the country to develop healthcare policies that would increase coverage and reduce system costs.
In 2016, he was named to Vermont Business Magazine’s Rising Stars class, which celebrates Vermonters under 40 who are making positive impacts in their communities. Dan also serves as the Board President of Downstreet Housing & Community Development, an affordable housing nonprofit located in Barre.
Dan lives in Barre City with his partner, Phayvanh Luekhamhan, and their black cat, Gremlin. When not working at the clinic, he loves camping, reading comic books (vintage Archie comics are his favorite), and visiting old cemeteries.
