Three Penny Taproom to hold Fundraiser for People’s Health & Wellness Clinic
Five percent of all sales on October 4 will benefit nonprofit healthcare clinic for the area’s uninsured
[Montpelier, Vt.] – Montpelier’s famous craft beer brewhouse will hold a special fundraiser early next month to support a local charity that provides primary healthcare services to Vermonters without access to insurance or a doctor.
Five percent of all food and beverage sales at Three Penny Taproom on October 4 will benefit the People’s Health and Wellness Clinic (PHWC), a 501c3 charity in downtown Barre City. PHWC provides family and oral healthcare services to area residents who cannot afford to see a doctor.
“We are so thrilled by this support from Three Penny Taproom,” said Daniel Barlow, PHWC executive director. “As a free healthcare clinic, we do not charge patients for any of our services and rely heavily on community donations to keep our doors open. Three Penny sets a high standard for business support for community nonprofits.”
“Everything People’s Health and Wellness does are things that we support and believe in,” said Wes Hamilton, the co-owner of Three Penny. “Maybe they’re ‘just a health clinic’ just as we are ‘just a restaurant’ but, like them, we’ve always tried to do what we do in a way that is mindful about being and creating the sort of community that we all want to be a part of. For us, that starts simply enough with recognizing and supporting the important contributions of our neighbors towards the health and well-being of us all.”
Supporters of PHWC are encouraged to eat and drink responsibly at Three Penny on October 4. PHWC staff and board members plan to be on hand at Three Penny Taproom from 5-7 PM that evening to meet with community members and talk about the vital role the clinic plays in improving the health of the community.
